Pumpkin, pumpkin on the ground
(crouch down)

How'd you get so big and round?
(stretch arms out wide to sides and then make a circle)

Once you were a seed so small,
(pretend to hold a seed)

Now you are a great big ball!
(make huge circle with hands)

(make a circle of people on the floor)

Once there was a pumpkin
(bring fingers of hands together)

And it grew,

And grew,
(slowly seperate hands)

And grew.
(join hands)

Now it's a jack-o-lantern

And smiles at you
(with a smile point to each other)
and you,
and you.

Jack-O-Lantern

I am a pumpkin, big and round
(make huge circle with arms)

Once upon the time I grew on the ground
(point to ground)

Now I have a mouth, two eyes, and a nose.
(point to each)

What are they for, do you suppose?
(scratch head)

When I have a candle inside shining bright
(hold up right index finger)

I'll be a Jack-O-Lantern on Halloween Night
(bragging gesture)

Jolly Jack-o-Lantern

I made a Jack-o-Lantern for Halloween night
(form circle with arms)

He has 3 crooked teeth but he won't bite
(point to teeth and shake head)

He has 2 round eyes but cannot see
(circle eyes with thumbs and index fingers together)

He's a Jolly Jack-o-lantern as happy as can be!

Jack-o-Lanterns

Five little jack-o-lanterns sitting on a gate
(hold up five fingers and point to each in turn)

The first one said, Oh My it's getting late

The second one said, Let's have some fun

The third one said, Let's run, Let's run

The fourth one said, Let's dance, let's prance

The fifth one said, Now is our chance

When whoooo went the wind
(blow hard)

and out went the light

and away went the jack-o-lanterns on Halloween night.
(run fingers behind back)

(circle arms)

And eyes so bright

(flutter fingers)

A nose that glows

(point to nose)

What a sight!

A silly mouth with a jolly grin

(Smile!)

No arms, no legs

Just head to chin

(point to chin)
