Five Fat Peas



Five fat peas in a pea pod pressed (children hold hand in a fist)
  One grew, two grew, so did all the rest. (put thumb and fingers up one by one)
  They grew and grew
 (raise hand in the air very slowly)
  And did not stop, Until one day
  The pod went POP! (children clap hands together)

Horses in the pasture



Horses in the pasture
(point ot side)

Horses in the hay
(point to other side)

Horses like to run and jump,
(run and jump in place)

Each and every day.
(clap along with words)

We can Jump

We can hop, hop, hop

We can clap, clap, clap,

We can stop, stop, stop,

We can stretch up both our arms,

We can reach and touch our toes,

We can bend our knees a little bit,

And sit down slow.

All around the story room

The children chased the bubbles.
(roll both hands/arms)

The children laughed and had such fun.

I love to blow bubbles,
(place hands over heart)

I just can't stop.
(shake head)

I blow them and blow them
(blow bubbles)

And watch them go POP!

The afikomen is the piece that Daddy hides,

I have two feet that are really neat!
(Jump when saying the word neat!)

Wooden soldiers, red and blue,

(march in place)

(clap hands for drum beat)

Busy Hands

(perform actions indicated)

Hands on shoulders, hands on knees

Put them behind you if you please

Down at your sides, now touch your hair

Now you may clap 1,2,3,4

Now sit down, hands folded once more

Eyes to the front, feet on the floor

In the bakery shop

There were 10 little doughnuts

With sugar on top

Along came Katie all alone

She grabbed a big one and ran on home.

Five Fire Fighters



Five little fire fighters sit very still
(hold up five fingers)

Until they see a fire on top of the hill

Number one rings the bell, ding-dong.
(bend down thumb)

Number 2 pulls his big boots on.
(bend down pointer finger)

Number 3 climbs on the truck right away.
(bend down middle finger)

Number 4 joins him, no one can wait.
(bend down ring finger)

Number 5 drives the truck to the fire.
(bend down little finger)

The big yellow flames go higher and higher.
(spread arms)

Whooo-ooo! Whooo-ooo! Hear the fire truck sway
(imitate siren )

As all of the cars get out of the way.

Shhh! goes the water from the fire hose spout,
(rub palms together)

And quicker than a wink the fire is out!
(clap hands)

Peas Porridge

Peas Porridge hot,
(clap hands in rhythm)

Peas Porridge cold,

Peas Porridge in the pot
(cup hands to make pot)

Nine days old.

Some like it hot,
(cup one hand, dip hand from other hand into, pretend eating)

Some like it cold,

Some like it the pot
(cup hands again)

Nine days old.

Hot Cross Buns

Hot Cross Buns,
(clap hands in rhythm)

One a-penny, two a-penny.
(Count out two fingers)

This Little Squirrel



This little squirrel said, Let's run and play
(point to each finger following rhyme)

This little squirrel said, Let's hunt nuts today

This little squirrel said, Yes, nuts are good

This little squirrel said, Yes, they are our best food

This little squirrel said, Come climb this tree
(hold up arm with open hand, run fingers of other hand upwards quickly)

And crack these nuts, one,two, three
(clap hands)

Hands up High

(follow the action of the rhyme)

Hands up high

Hands down low

Hide those hand now where did they go?

One hand up, the other one too

Clap them, fold them, now we're through.
