My Little Turtle

This is my little turtle.
(Make fist)
He lives alone in a shell.
He likes his little home.
He thinks it's really swell. He pokes out his head
(Poke out thumb)
When he wants to eat.
Then he pulls it back in.
(Hide thumb in fist)
When he wants to sleep.

Tiny Tim

I had a little turtle, his name was Tiny Tim.
I put him in the bathtub, to see if he could swim.
He drank up all the water, he ate up all the soap.
And now he's sick in bed, with a bubble in his throat!
(Hiccup!)

Two Old Turtles

Two old turtles,
Going for a walk,
(Hold out two clenched fists with thumbs sticking out and move forawrd)

"Good morning", said one,
"Shall we have a little talk?"
(wiggle one thumb)

"Yes," said the other,
"I do enjoy a chat"
(wiggle other thumb)

So they walked along together
With a natter, natter, nat !
(Hold out two clenched fists with thumbs sticking out and move forward)

Turtle

There was a little turtle
(make circle with hands)

He lived in a box
(make box with hands)

He swam in a puddle,
(wiggle hands)

He climbed on the rocks
(climb fingers of one hand onto the other)

He snapped at a mosquito
(clap hands)

He snapped at a flea
(clap hands)

He snapped at a minnow
(clap hands)

He snapped at me
(point to self)

He caught the mosquito
(open both palms up and snap fingers back shut)

He caught the flea
(open both palms up and snap fingers back shut)

He caught the minnow
(open both palms up and snap fingers back shut)

But he didn't catch me

He snapped at a minnow.
(Clap hands.)

He snapped at me.
(Point at self.)

He caught the mosquito.
(Hold hand up, palm forward; quickly bend fingers shut.)

He caught the flea.
(Repeat.)

He caught the minnow.

But he didn't catch me.
(Bend fingers only half-way shut.)
