Tomato

I'm round and red,

And juicy too,

Chop me for a salad,

Or dump me in your stew!

Carrot

Orange is my color,

I stand long and lean,

In the garden you'll see,

Just my bright leaves of green.

Peas

I live in a pod,

With so many others,

I think I was born,

With one hundred brothers!

Green Beans

Look in the garden,

You'll see my sign,

Then bring out your basket,

When it's pickin' time!

Plant a Seed Song

First you dig a little hole,

Then you drop some seeds in there.

Cover them with lots of dirt.

Give them water, sun, and care.

Now the seeds will start to sprout,

Flowers blooming all about!

Gardening Fun!

Cover all the seeds in dirt

As you plant the seeds in rows

Little shoots will push right up

You'll be surprised what grows

Water them and feed them too.

Then pull those pesky weeds.

Gardening is so much fun!

It all starts with some seeds!

Spring Song

To the tune of: Sing a Song of Sixpence

Pink and yellow flowers,

are nodding pretty heads,

Bees are buzzing nicely

around garden beds

Trees are filled with blossoms

the robins are starting to sing

And surely this will let us know

The season must be spring!

I'm a Little Flower

I’m a little flower, green and red.

I grew up in a flower bed.

With a little rain and tender care;

flowers, flowers everywhere.

Five Flowers

One little flower growing just for you.
(hold up 1 finger)

Up came another and then there were two.
(hold up 2 fingers)

Two little flowers growing near a tree.
Up came another and then there were three.
(hold up 3 fingers)

Three little flowers growing more and more.
(move hand up)

Up came another and then there were four
(hold up 4 fingers)

Four little flowers growing side by side.
Up came another and then there were five.

Carrots

See the carrots in the ground
(form a carrot with hands and point to the ground.)

I pull them hard without a sound
(pull carrots out)

I wash and clean them up and down.
(scrub up and down with your palms of your hands)

I love to eat them all year round.
(Pretend to eat carrots)

Tiny Seeds

Tiny seed planted just right
(tuck into a ball)

Not a breath of air, nor a ray of light

Rain falls slowly to and fro

And now the seed begins to grow
(start to unfold slowly)

Slowly reaching for the light

With all its energy, with all its might

The little seed's work is almost done

To grow up tall and face the sun
(stand up with arms stretched out)

What do you suppose?

What do you suppose?

A bee sat on my nose!
(touch nose)

Then what do you think?

He gave a great big wink!
(wink)

And said- I beg your pardon!

I thought you were a garden.

My Garden

This is my garden
(extend palm)

I rake it with care
(pretend to rake with three fingers)

And then I plant flower seeds in there
(pretend to plant)

The sun will shine
(hold arms in circle over head)

and the rain will fall
(wiggle fingers on both hands as move downwards)

and my garden will blossom
(cup hands)

and grow straight and tall
(stretch arms/hands up slowly)

Mary, Mary Quite Contrary

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,

how does your garden grow?

With silver bells,

and cockle shells,

and pretty maids all in a row.

Garden Snail

Slowly, slowly, very slowly

Creeps the garden snail
(circle palm slowly)

Round and Round the Garden

Round and round the garden.
(circle palm with finger)

Goes the Teddy Bear
One step, two step
(walk fingers up arm)

Tickle 'em under there.
