Five Little Firefighters

Five little fire fighters sit very still
  (hold up five fingers)

  Until they see a five on top of the hill
 

Number one rings the bell, ding-dong.
  (bend down thumb)

  Number 2 pulls his big boots on.
  (bend down pointer finger)

  Number 3 climbs on the truck right away.
  (bend down middle finger)

  Number 4 joins him, no one can wait.
  ( bend down ring finger)

  Number 5 drives the truck to the fire.
  (bend down little finger)

  The big yellow flames go higher and higher.
  (spread arms)

  Whooo-ooo!  Whooo-ooo!  Hear the fire truck say
  (imitate siren)

  As all of the cars get out of the way.

 
Shhh!  goes the water from the fire hose spout,
  (rub palms together)

 
And quicker than a wink the fire is out!
    ( clap hands. )

Barber's Scissors

Here are the Barber's Scissors,
(make cutting motion)
With which he cuts my hair,

I hope he cuts my bangs,
(snip fingers around hair and bangs)
Very nice and square,

A comb, a brush,
(pretend to comb)

Hairspray too,
(spray hair)
The barber has a lot to do!

Mailman

See the mailman, dressed in blue
(pretend to look)

He's walking, walking, walking
(walk in place)

Do you think he'll bring to you

Some postcards and a letter too?

Carpenter

(Perform actions indicated by words)

The carpenter's hammer goes knock, knock, knock,

And his saw goes see, saw, see,

He planes and measures

He hammers and he saws

While he builds something for me.

(point to self)

Dentist

If I were a dentist,
I know what I would do.
(Point to self.)

I'd tell all the children, "Brush your teeth."
(Imitate brushing teeth.)

"Keep a smile like new."
(Make a big smile and point to lips.)

And if a tiny hole should show,
I'd say, "Climb into my chair."
I'd make my little drill go buzzzzzzzzzz,
(Make circle with fingers.)

And put a filling there!
(Point to teeth.)

This Little Firefighter

(Count off using your fingers)

This little firefighter rings the bell,

This little firefighter holds the hose so well,

This little firefighter slides down the pole,

This little firefighter chops a hole,

This little firefighter climbs higher and higher,

And all the firefighters put out the fire.

I'm the Postman

I'm the Postman, on my way.
(walk in place)

These are my work clothes, all blue and gray.
(point to clothes and head)

When I come to your house, every day,
(point to children)

I leave the mail, but I can't stay.
(point to self)

I am a Cobbler

I am a cobbler

And this is what I do

Rap-tap-a-tap

To mend my shoe

(hit fist on hand)

Brave Fireman

This brave fireman is going to bed
(hold up right thumb)

Down on the pillow he lays his head
(put right thumb on open left palm)

Wraps himself in his blanket tight
(curl fingers around thumb)

And plans to sleep this way all night
(close eyes)

But the fire alarm rings! He opens his eyes!
(open eyes)

Quickly he's dressed and down the pole he slides
(right hand slides down left arm in a grip from elbow to wrist )

Then he climbs on the truck to go, go, go.
(hands steer imaginary steering wheel )
