First of April

The first of April, some do say,

Is set apart for All Fool's Day,

But why the people call it so,

Nor I, nor they themselves, do know,

But on this day are people sent,

On purpose for pure merriment.

April Fool

Small April sobbed, I'm going to cry,

Please give me a cloud to wipe my eye,

Then April Fool, she laughed instead,

And smiled a rainbow overhead.

April Clouds

Two little clouds one April Day
(make two fists)

went sailing across the sky
(move fists side to side)

They went so fast, they bumped their heads
(bump fists together)

And both began to cry.
(rub eyes with hands)

Out came the big round sun who said
(make huge circle over head with arms)

Never mind my little dears,

I'll send sunbeams down
(wiggle fingers on both hands downward)
to dry your fallen tears.
