Plant a Seed Song

First you dig a little hole,

Then you drop some seeds in there.

Cover them with lots of dirt.

Give them water, sun, and care.

Now the seeds will start to sprout,

Flowers blooming all about!

Mister Moon

Mister Moon, Mister Moon

You're out too soon,

The sun is still in the sky

Go back to your bed

And cover up your head

And wait till the day goes by.

Summertime!

To tune of : Jingle Bells

Summertime, summertime
It is so much fun!
Playing in our backyard
in the summer sun!
Splash with friends in the pool,
We have such a blast!
It's too bad that summertime
has to go so fast!

You are my Sunshine

You are my sunshine, my only sunshine

You make me happy when skies are gray

You'll never know dear, how much i love you

So please don't take my sunshine away

Five Snowmen

Five Little Snowmen standing in a row,

They each have a hat,
(hands on head)

and a big red bow
(hands on neck)

When the sun shines
(circle arms around head)

Where will they go?
(shrug shoulders)

They melt, melt, melt, melt, melt...
(sink down to floor)

Farmer Plants the Seeds

Tune: Farmer in the Dell

Farmer Plants the Seeds, Farmer Plants the Seeds, Farmer Plants the Seeds

Hi-ho the derry-o, Farmer Plants the Seeds!

The rain begins to fall, The rain begins to fall, The rain begins to fall,
(wiggle fingers downward)

Hi-ho the derry-o, The rain begins to fall!

The sun begins to shine
(arms above head for sun)

The seeds begin to grow
(arms and hands move up)

The flowers bloom everywhere
(hands together, fingers spread apart for flowers)

Sun is Hiding

The sun is hiding,
(hide face behind hands)

Clouds float by,
(move hands from side to side)

And raindrops fall, down from the sky
(move fingers down like falling raindrops)

The rain makes puddles
(stamp feet)

At my feet
(stamp feet)

As raindrops dance
(wiggle fingers from side to side)

Across the street.
(wiggle fingers from side to side)

I'm a Little Ice Cube

To the tune of: Little Teapot

I'm a Little Ice Cube,

Square and cold,

When I get warm,

I'll melt, I'm told.

Look, here comes the sun!

This won't be fun

Melting, melting- now I'm done!

Rain is Falling Down

Rain is falling down, splash!
Rain is falling down, splash!
Pitter, patter, pitter, patter.
Rain is falling down, splash!

Sun is peeking out, peek-a-boo!
Sun is peeking out, peek-a-boo!
Peeking here, peeking there,
Sun is peeking out, peek-a-boo!

Mr. Sun

Oh, Mister Sun, Sun, Mister Golden Sun,
(hold arms above head in a circle)

Won’t you please shine down on me.
(lower arms, point to self)

Oh, Mister Sun, Sun, Mister Golden Sun,
(hold arms above head in a circle)

Hiding behind a tree.
(put hands in front of face)

These little children are asking you,
(point to others in group)

To please come out, so we can play with you.
(beckon with arm)

Oh Mister Sun, Sun, Mister Golden Sun,
(hold arms above head in a circle)

Please shine down on me.
(lower arms, point to self)

During the Spring

During the Spring, it often showers
(flutter fingers down)

Or the sun shines for many hours
(form circle in the air with arms)

Both are good for the flowers!
(cup each hand and extend arms like flowers)

Little Brown Seed

I'm a little brown seed
(crouch into a ball)
Rolled up in a tiny ball

The rain and the sunshine
(rise)
will make me big and tall
(stretch out)

I am the Sun

I am the Sun
(arms circle over head)
Shining hot and bright,

When I go sleep
(rest hands on head)
Day turns to night.

When I wake up,
(stretch and yawn)

I stretch and yawn,
(stretch and yawn),

And turn the darkness
(circle arms)
into Dawn.

During the Spring

During the Spring, it often showers
(flutter fingers down)

Or the sun shines for many hours
(form circle in the air with arms)

Both are good for the flowers!
(cup each hand and extend arms like flowers)

Big Round Sun

The big round sun in the springtime sky
(form large circle with arms)

Winked at a cloud that was passing by.
(wink eye)

The little cloud laughed as it scattered rain,
(flutter fingers downward)

Then out came the big round sun again.
(form large circle with arms)

Tiny Seeds

Tiny seed planted just right
(tuck into a ball)

Not a breath of air, nor a ray of light

Rain falls slowly to and fro

And now the seed begins to grow
(start to unfold slowly)

Slowly reaching for the light

With all its energy, with all its might

The little seed's work is almost done

To grow up tall and face the sun
(stand up with arms stretched out)

April Clouds

Two little clouds one April Day
(make two fists)

went sailing across the sky
(move fists side to side)

They went so fast, they bumped their heads
(bump fists together)

And both began to cry.
(rub eyes with hands)

Out came the big round sun who said
(make huge circle over head with arms)

Never mind my little dears,

I'll send sunbeams down
(wiggle fingers on both hands downward)
to dry your fallen tears.

My Garden

This is my garden
(extend palm)

I rake it with care
(pretend to rake with three fingers)

And then I plant flower seeds in there
(pretend to plant)

The sun will shine
(hold arms in circle over head)

and the rain will fall
(wiggle fingers on both hands as move downwards)

and my garden will blossom
(cup hands)

and grow straight and tall
(stretch arms/hands up slowly)

Sing a Song of Sunshine

To the Tune of: Sing a Song of Sixpence

Sing a Song of Sunshine, Be happy every day
(smile)

Sing a Song of Sunshine, Just chase the clouds away.
(move hands as if pushing clouds away)

Be happy every moment, in everything you do

Just smile and smile and smile and let the sun shine through.
(make round sun with fingers touching above head)

Little Plant

In the heart of a seed
buried down so deep
(make a fist)

A little plant
lay fast asleep
Awake said the sun
(make large circle over head wth arms)
Come up through the earth

Awake said the rain
(flutter fingertips down)
We're giving you birth

The little plant heard
(open hand, turn fingers upward, raise arm slowly)
with a happy sigh,
and pointed its petals
up to the sky.
