I've Been Working On the Railroad

I've been working on the railroad.

All the live-long day.

I've been working on the railroad.

Just to pass the time a-way.

Don't you hear the whistle blowing?

Rise up so early in the morn'.

Don't you hear the captain shouting;

Dinah blow your horn!

Some-one's in the kitch-en with Di-nah

Some-one's in the kitch-en

I know oh oh oh

Some-one's in the kitch-en with Di-nah

Strum-min' on the old ban-jo,

And sing-in' Fee Fi Fid-dle-ee aye oh!

Fee Fi Fid-dle-ee aye oh oh oh oh!

Fee Fi Fid-dle-ee aye oh!

Strum-min' on the old ban-jo!

Hear the Engine Puff

Hear the engine puff, choo-choo-choo,

Hear the whistle blow, toot-toot-too.

Hear the big bell ring, ding-dong-ding,

Hear the brakeman shout "All Aboard".

Choo Choo Train

Here comes the Choo Choo Train
(rotate hands one over the other)

chugging down the track

first it goes forward

then it goes back
(reverse direction)

now the bell is ringing
(ding, ding, ding) now the whistle blows
(whoo, whoo, whoo)

what a lot of noise it makes
(hands over ears)

everywhere it goes!

Choo Choo Train

I’m a choo-choo train
(bend arms at side)

Chugging down the track.
(rhythmically move arms)

First I go forward,
(move arms forward)

Then I go back.
(move arms back)

Now my bell is ringing,
(pretend to pull bell)

Hear my whistle blow.
(cup hand to ear)

What a lot of noise I make
(cover ears)

Everywhere I go !

Wheels on the Train

The wheels of the train go ‘round and ‘round,
Clickety clack, clickety clack.
The wheels of the train Go ‘round and ‘round,
Clickety, clickety clack.

The engineer toots his horn,
Toot, toot, toot, toot.
The engineer toots his horn,
Toot, toot, toot.

The crossing gates come right down,
Clang, clang, clang, clang.
The crossing gates come right down,
Clang, clang, clang.

The people on the train get bumped around,
Bumpety bump, bumpety bump.
The people on the train get bumped around,
Bumpety bump, bump.

Here is the Engine

Here is the engine on the track
(count off fingers one by one, begin with your thumb)

Here is the coal car, just in back

Here is the boxcar to carry the freight,

Here is the mail car- now don't be late!

Way back here at the end of the train

Rides the little caboose through the sun and the rain!

Engine on the Track

(point to fingers as rhyme indicates)

Here is the engine on the track
(hold up thumb)

Here is the coal car, just in back
(pointer finger)

Here is the box car to carry freight
(middle finger)

Here is the mail care. Don't be late.
(ring finger)

Way back here at the end of the train.
(little finger)

Rides the caboose through the sun and rain.

Down by the Station

Down by the Station, early in the morning,
(tap legs)

Do you see the engines standing in a row?

Do you see the engineer pull the big whistle?
(raise closed fist and pull downwards)

Toot, toot, choo, choo, off we go!
(slide hands together for choo-choo)

Choo-choo Train

Choo, choo, choo
(slide hands back and forth together)

The train runs down the track
(run fingers down arm)

Choo, choo, choo
(slide hands back and forth together)

And then it runs right back.
(run fingers up arm)

The Train

A little train stood on the track.

It said, Choo! Choo!

It ran right up
(creep fingers up arm to shoulder)

It ran right back.
(move fingers back down quickly)

Choo-Choo Train

Choo-choo train, choo-choo train
(hold waist and sway)

Puffing down the track

Now we're going forward

Now we're going back

Now the bell is ringing, ding-ding
(shake one hand)

Now the whistle blows, toot-toot
(shake the other hand)

We can make a lot of noise
(sway)

Everywhere we go!

This Little Train

This Little Train ran up the track
(run your fingers up arm)

toot, toot, toot
(make train whistle sound)

And then it came toot-tooting back
(run fingers down arm)

Toot, toot, toot
