Blueberry Bush

The Blueberry Bush
(Tune: The Mulberry Bush)
Here we go round the blueberry bush,
The blueberry bush, the blueberry bush.
Here we go round the blueberry bush,
So early in the morning.

Pick the blueberries small and round,
Small and round, small and round.
Pick the blueberries small and round,
So early in the morning.

(Taste the blueberries, ripe and sweet, etc.)

Good Morning to You

Good Morning to you, Good Morning to you

We're all in our places

With bright shining faces

Good Morning to you.

Big Yellow Moon

Big yellow moon shines so bright,
(Arms above head in circle shape.)

Glides across the starry night,
(Arms move from left to right.)

Looks down at me
(Hand shades eyes.)

Asleep in bed,
(Hands together at side of face.)

Whispers, "Good night, sleepyhead."
(Forefinger in front of mouth.)

Big yellow moon, your turn is done.
(Arms above head move down in front of body.)

Here comes Mr. Morning Sun.
(Arms move above head in circle shape.)

I wake up.
(Arms stretch out.)

You go to bed.
(Hands together at side of face.)

"Sleep well, Moon, you sleepyhead."
(Forefinger in front of mouth.)

Dance Around the Snowman

 Tune: Mulberry Bush

This is the way
we dance around
dance around, dance around,
This is the way
We dance around
Our snowman in the morning

This is the way
We skip around,
Skip around, Skip around
This is the way
We skip around
Our snowman in the morning

This is the way
We twirl around,
Twirl around, twirl around
This is the way
We twirl around
Our snowman in the morning.

Over in the Barnyard

Over in the barnyard,
Early in the morning,

See the little baby chicks,
All in a row,
(hold up five fingers of one hand and wiggle them)

See the busy farmer,
Scattering their breakfast,
(scatter chicken feed with other hand)

Peck, peck,
(hold your four fingers together and place your thumb below to form a beak and make pecking motions)

Cheep, cheep
(open and close your beak)

Off they go!

Start our Day

This is the way we start our day,
start our day, start our day.
This is the way we start our day, so early in the morning.

First we smile and shake a hand
(we shake each other's hands)

Shake a hand, shake a hand
First we smile and shake a hand,
so early in the morning,

then We give a great big hug
(we hug each other)
A great big hug, a great big hug
Then we give a great big hug so early in the morning.

Then we sit down quietly, quietly, quietly,
Then we sit down quietly, so early in the morning.

I am the Sun

I am the Sun
(arms circle over head)
Shining hot and bright,

When I go sleep
(rest hands on head)
Day turns to night.

When I wake up,
(stretch and yawn)

I stretch and yawn,
(stretch and yawn),

And turn the darkness
(circle arms)
into Dawn.

Make a Pancake

Make a pancake, pat, pat, pat
(pat hands together)

Do not make it fat, fat, fat
(stretch hands apart real wide)

You must make it flat, flat, flat
(pat and press hands together)

Make a pancake just like that!
(clap hands together)

The Sun

Over there the sun goes up
(extend arm out to side)

And marches all the day
(raise arm slowly)

At noon, it stands right overhead.
(arm straight up)

At night, it goes away.
(lower arm slowly and drop down)

Story Hour

(make action indicated by rhyme)

When the sun lights up the sky

I sit right up and rub my eyes

I dress myself with greatest care

I brush my teeth and comb my hair

Then off to story hour I go,

To hear the stories that I love so.

All Around the Barnyard

 (Rest cheek on folded hands)

All around the barnyard
The animals are fast asleep.
Sleeping cows and horses,
Sleeping pigs and sheep.

Here comes the cocky rooster
To sound his daily alarm.
"Cock-a-doodle-doo!
Wake up sleepy farm!"
(Flap arms at sides and crow.)

Way Up in the Sky

Way up in the sky
(hands thrown up)

The little birds fly
(flap arms like wings)

While down in the nest
('nest' in crook of elbow - point)

The little birds rest
(rest head on hands - 'sleeping')

With a wing on the left
('flap' left arm then bring it behind)

And a wing on the right
(same on right)

The little birds sleep
All through the night
(same sleeping action)

Shhh!
(whispered)

They're SLEEPING!
(shout!)

The bright sun comes up
(throw hands up)

The dew falls away
(wiggle fingers like rain)

Good morning! Good morning!
(throw hands up at each Good
morning')

the little birds say.

Down by the Station

Down by the Station, early in the morning,
(tap legs)

Do you see the engines standing in a row?

Do you see the engineer pull the big whistle?
(raise closed fist and pull downwards)

Toot, toot, choo, choo, off we go!
(slide hands together for choo-choo)

To Bed

This Little Girl is going to Bed

Down on the pillow she lays her head
(open palm and lay index finger across it)

Wraps herself in the covers tight
(close open palm around index finger)

And this is the way she sleeps all night

Morning comes and she opens her eyes
Back with a toss the cover flies
(release finger from plam quickly)

(make the actions in the rhyme)
Up she jumps and gets all dressed,

And washes her face and washes her hands

And combs her hair and brushes her teeth

And drinks her orange juice

And eats her oatmeal

And eats her toast and drinks her milk

And buttons her coat and goes to school.
