Red and Sweet Watermelon

It's summertime

and it's really the time

to slurp the best

from the vine.

It's red and sweet,

It can't be beat!

It's watermelon!

What a treat!

Strawberries!

I like strawberries, ripe and red

Strawberry jam on top of bread,

Sliced on ice cream, or made into jelly.

Strawberries, strawberries in my belly!

Piled on a bowl or on a plate,

Strawberries, strawberries, taste just great!

I like Apples!

To the Tune of: Frere Jacques

I like apples, I like apples,

Yes I do, Yes I do,

Crispy and so crunchy,

Munchy, munchy, munchy

Good for you, good for you!!!!

Blueberry Bush

The Blueberry Bush
(Tune: The Mulberry Bush)
Here we go round the blueberry bush,
The blueberry bush, the blueberry bush.
Here we go round the blueberry bush,
So early in the morning.

Pick the blueberries small and round,
Small and round, small and round.
Pick the blueberries small and round,
So early in the morning.

(Taste the blueberries, ripe and sweet, etc.)

Apple Man

Tune: Muffin Man

Oh, do you know the apple man

the apple man

the apple man

Oh, do you know the apple man

who likes to play with me

Oh, he has a great big smile

a great big smile

a great big smile

Oh he has a great big smile

and likes to play with me.

Bananas

Bananas are my favorite fruit
(pretend to hold banana)

I eat one every day
(hold up one finger)

I always take one with me
(act as if putting one in pocket)

When I go out to play
(wave goodbye)

It gives me lots of energy
(make muscle)

To jump around and run
(move arms as if running)

Bananas are my favorite fruit
(rub tummy)

To me they're so much fun!
(point to self and smile)

Watermelon Song

Watermelon, Watermelon,
(Make a circle with your arms.)

On the vine, On the vine,
(Curve hands and arms beside body.)

Sweet and red and juicy, Sweet and red and juicy,
(Rub your tummy.)

Please be mine! Please be mine!
(Palms together as though pleading.)

Watermelon, Watermelon,
(Make a circle with your arms.)

Thump, thump, thump,
Thump, thump, thump,
(Make a thumping movement with thumb and middle finger.)

I think you are ready- I think you are ready-
(Point, resting finger on your temple.)

Big and plump! Big and plump!
(Make a circle with your arms.)

My Apple

Look at my apple. It is nice and round.
(create a circle with both hands)

It fell from a tree down to the ground.
(move fingers of one hand down)

Come, let me share my apple, please do!
(beckon)

My Mother can cut it in half
(make slicing motion)

One half for me and one half for you.
(hold out each hand, one after the other)

Swaying Apple Tree

Here is the apple tree with leaves so green,
(stand up and stretch and hang arms and hands out to your sides)

Here are the apples that hang in between,
(make a small circle with your two hands)

When the wind blows,
(sway body and arms back and forth)

The apples will fall,
(crouch down on the floor)

Let's use a basket to gather them all!
(pretend to pick up apples and put them into a basket)

Look at the Apple I have Found

Look at the apple I have found
(circle hands)

So round and rosy on the ground

We will wash it and cut it in two
(perform actions)

Half for me and half for you
(hold out both hands)

Way up High in the Apple Tree

Way up High in the Apple Tree

(hands up)

Two little apples smiled at me

(hold up two fists)

I shook the tree as hard as I could

(shake hands)

Down came the apples

(hands in lap)

Mmm, were they good

(pat tummy)
