Eating Apples

Tune: Six Little Ducks

5 red apples on a tree
(hold up fingers)

Looked as juicy as could be
(wiggle fingers)

A crow swooped in to get some lunch
(move other hand in swooping motion)

It one apple with a crunch, crunch, crunch!
(open and close hand over one finger)

Do you Hear a Monster?

If you think you hear a monster,
(Cup hand to ear)

Growling somewhere outside,
(Point off into the distance)

It's probably just your stomach,
(Rub tummy)

Needing some food inside.

Carrots

See the carrots in the ground
(form a carrot with hands and point to the ground.)

I pull them hard without a sound
(pull carrots out)

I wash and clean them up and down.
(scrub up and down with your palms of your hands)

I love to eat them all year round.
(Pretend to eat carrots)

Spotted Giraffe

The spotted giraffe is tall as can be,
(raise one arm as high as you can),

His lunch is a bunch of leaves off a tree,
(nibble with fingers of hand of outstetched arm)

He has a very long neck and his legs are long too,
(point to raised arm and legs)

And he can run faster than his friends at the zoo!

Eat an Apple

Eat an apple
(Bring right hand to mouth)

Save the core.
(Close right hand in fist)

Plant the seeds.
(Bend down touch hand to ground)

And grow some more.
(Extend both arms out)

My Apple

Look at my apple. It is nice and round.
(create a circle with both hands)

It fell from a tree down to the ground.
(move fingers of one hand down)

Come, let me share my apple, please do!
(beckon)

My Mother can cut it in half
(make slicing motion)

One half for me and one half for you.
(hold out each hand, one after the other)

Old Mother Hubbard

Old Mother Hubbard,

went to the cupboard,

to fetch her poor dog a bone.

But when she got there,

the cupboard was bare,

and so the poor dog had none.

Bears Eat Honey

A bear eats honey
(pretend to eat)

He thinks it's yummy

In his tummy
(rub tummy)

But the bees don't think it's funny!
Buzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Digging in the Dirt

Ten little doggies went out one day
(hold 10 fingers up)

To dig in the dirt and play, play, play.
(Pretend to dig like a dog with both hands)

Five were spotted, and five were not,
(Hold up one hand at a time)

and at dinner time they ate a lot!
(Pretend to eat)

Peas Porridge

Peas Porridge hot,
(clap hands in rhythm)

Peas Porridge cold,

Peas Porridge in the pot
(cup hands to make pot)

Nine days old.

Some like it hot,
(cup one hand, dip hand from other hand into, pretend eating)

Some like it cold,

Some like it the pot
(cup hands again)

Nine days old.

Once I Saw a Bunny

Once I Saw a Bunny
(close fist and extend middle and index fingers)

And a green, green cabbage head
(make fist with other hand)

I think I'll have some cabbage

The little bunny said

So he nibbled and he nibbled
(wiggle the two fingers up and down)

And he pricked up his ears to say
(extend fingers straight)

Now I think it's time

I should be hopping on my way.
(hop hand away)

Five Little Pilgrims

Five little Pilgrims on Thanksgiving Day
(hold up hand and count off fingers with the rhyme)

The first one said, "I"ll have cake if I may."

The second one said, "I'll have turkey roasted."

The third one said, "I'll have chestnuts toasted."

The fourth one said, "I'll have pumpkin pie."

The fifth one said, "Oh, cranberries I spy."

But before the Pilgrims ate their turkey dressing,

They bowed their heads and said a Thanksgiving blessing.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Thanksgiving Dinner

Every day when we eat our dinner

Our table is so small
(interlace fingers of each hand, pushing fingers together, palms down, and thumbs extended to be table legs)

Just room for Mother, Father, Sister, Baby, And Me-that's all

But when Thanksgiving comes and company

You'd scare believe your eyes
(pull fingers and hands apart as far as possible keeping finger tips interlaced)

That very self-same table

Stretches out until it's this size.
