Here is a Cave

Here is a cave.
(Bend fingers on one hand.)
Inside is a bear.
(Put thumb inside fingers.)
Now he comes out
To get some fresh air.
(Pop out thumb.)

He stays out all summer
In sunshine and heat.
He hunts in the forest
For berries to eat.
(Move thumb in a circle.)

When snow starts to fall,
He hurries inside
His warm little cave
And there he will hide.
(Put thumb inside fingers.)

Snow covers the cave
Like a fluffy white rug.
Inside the bear sleeps
All cozy and snug.
(Place one hand over the other.)

Spring Song

To the tune of: Sing a Song of Sixpence

Pink and yellow flowers,

are nodding pretty heads,

Bees are buzzing nicely

around garden beds

Trees are filled with blossoms

the robins are starting to sing

And surely this will let us know

The season must be spring!

March comes in like a Lion

March comes in like a lion,
like a lion, like a lion.

March come in like a lion,
and goes out like a lamb.

March comes in with a great big wind,
great big wind, great big wind

March comes in with a great big wind,
and goes out with a breeze.

Falling Leaves

All the leaves are falling down

(flutter fingers downward)

Orange, green, red, and brown.

(flutter fingers)

If you listen, you'll hear them say,

(cup hands around ears)

"Wintertime is on it's way."

(whispering)

When the Wind is Blowing

When the Wind is Blowing,
(sway arms back and forth over head)

And the skies are getting gray,

We have to stay indoors,

It's too cold to go out and play,
(hug body)

We gather around the kitchen,

And let the oven heat,
(pretend to turn on oven)

We stir and mix, stir and mix,
(pretend to stir)

It's time to bake a treat.
(rub tummy)
