Crunching Caterpillar

To tune of: Did you ever see a Lassie?

Did you ever see a caterpillar, a caterpillar, a caterpillar?

Did you ever see a caterpillar chew on a leaf?

He'll crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch, crunch

And munch, munch, munch, munch, munch, munch.

Did you ever see a caterpillar chew on a leaf?

Three Little Ladybugs

One little ladybug
(hold up one finger)

With spots on its wings

Landed right beside me
(tap sides)

As I played on the swings
(sway forward and backward)

Two little Lady Bugs
(hold up two fingers)

Flew around a flower,
(move two fingers in a circle)

Then crawled beneath a leaf
(children cup one hand over two fingers)

To nap for half an hour.
(children lay their heads on their hands)

Five Leaves

Five little leaves up in a tree,

One little leaf said, 'Look at me!

The leaf let go and down he fell,

Ouch! He didn't feel so well.

Repeat with the other 4 leaves.

Four Little Leaves

Four little leaves hanging from a tree,
Looking as lovely as can be.
Whoosh went the wind and one leaf said,
“Ill meet you on the ground. I’m the color RED.”

Three little leaves hanging from a tree,
Looking as lovely as can be.
Whoosh went the wind and another fell down.
This little leaf was the color BROWN.

Two little leaves hanging from a tree,
Looking as lovely as can be.
Whoosh went the wind. Oh my, it was cold!
Another leaf fell. It was the color GOLD.

One little leaf hanging from a tree,
Looking as lovely as can be.
Whoosh went the wind and the leaf started to sway,
But it was still GREEN, so it had to stay !

Little Leaves

 (Act out the Rhyme)

The little leaves are falling down,
Round & round, round & round.
The little leaves are falling down,
Falling to the ground.

The LEaves are Falling Down

To the Tune of : The Farmer in the Dell

The leaves are turning red,
The leaves are turning red,
Hi, ho, the derrio,
The leaves are turning red.
The leaves are turning yellow,
The leaves are turning yellow,
Hi, ho, the derrio,
The leaves are turning yellow.
The leaves are turning orange,
The leaves are turning orange,
Hi, ho, the derrio,
The leaves are turning orange.
The leaves are turning brown,
The leaves are turning brown,
Hi, ho, the derrio,
The leaves are turning brown.
The leaves are falling down,
The leaves are falling down,
Hi, ho, the derrio,
The leaves are falling down !

The Leaves on the Trees

To the Tune of: The Wheel on the Bus

The leaves on the trees turn orange and red, orange and red, orange and red;
The leaves on the trees turn orange and red, all through the town.
The leaves on the trees come twirling down, twirling down, twirling down;
The leaves on the trees come twirling down, all through the town.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish;
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish, all through the town.

Leaves are Twirling

To the Tune: Frere Jacques

Leaves are twirling, Leaves are twirling
All around, All around
They are falling softly
Very, Very softly
To the ground, to the ground.

All the Leaves

All the leaves are falling down
(flutter fingers downward)

Orange, green, red, and brown.
(flutter fingers)

If you listen, you'll hear them say,
(cup hands around ears)

"Wintertime is on it's way."
(whispering)

Spotted Giraffe

The spotted giraffe is tall as can be,
(raise one arm as high as you can),

His lunch is a bunch of leaves off a tree,
(nibble with fingers of hand of outstetched arm)

He has a very long neck and his legs are long too,
(point to raised arm and legs)

And he can run faster than his friends at the zoo!

Scarecrow

The scarecrow stands
(stand up)

with hanging hands
(outstretched arms)

Beside the farmer's stile

He scares away the jay and the crow
(step forward)

With just a painted smile
(stretch out arms and grin)

Leaves on the Ground

When the leaves are on the ground,
(point to ground)

Instead of on the trees
(hold hands over head)

I like to make a pile of them

Way up to my knees
(clasp knees)

I like to run and jump in them
(jump once)

And kick them all around
(kick with foot)

I like the prickly feel of them

And the crickly, crackly sound.
(snap fingers)

Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves are floating down,
(float arms and hands up and down)

They make a carpet on the ground

Then swish, the wind comes whistling by,
(move arms to the side quickly)

And sends them dancing to the sky.

Blooming Flower

Here is a green leaf
(palm up)

and here is a green leaf
(other palm up)

That, you see, makes two

Here is a bud
(make a fist)

That is a flower
Watch it bloom for you!
(open fingers slowly)

Autumn

The trees are gently dropping,
Leaves onto the ground
(flutter fingers down)

The flowers are all nodding,
Down and all around
(turn around slowly)

The wind is blowing
A chilly breeze
(sway back and forth)

The birds are flying
Into the trees
(flap arms like wings)

October

The Month is October
With Leaves Falling Down
(flutter fingers)

That were once all

Yellow, Scarlet, and Brown

Falling Leaves

All the leaves are falling down

(flutter fingers downward)

Orange, green, red, and brown.

(flutter fingers)

If you listen, you'll hear them say,

(cup hands around ears)

"Wintertime is on it's way."

(whispering)

The Little Leaves Fall Gently Down

The Little Leaves Fall Gently Down
(flutter hands)

The little leaves fall gently down

Red and yellow, orange and brown

Whirling, whirling round and round
(turn hands)

Down, down, down
(drop head into lap)
